Logos
The Maidment Theatre receives financial support from the University of Auckland. To acknowledge this support we ask that clients display our logo on their promotional material.
Maidment Theatre
Black and white positive
Please note: The negative version of the logo is the reverse of the positive version, with an increase in weight of the outline around the crest. For this reason a negative print cannot be created from a positive version.

Clear area
There should always be a clear area surrounding the perimeter of the logo. No other element, symbol, or type may intrude on this clear area. The logo must not “bleed” or run off the edge of the page.
Horizontal logo
The clear horizontal area is equal to 120% of the total horizontal element area, and the vertical clear area is equal to 150% of the total vertical element area* as shown:
Vertical logo
The clear horizontal area is equal to 120% of the total horizontal element area, and the vertical clear area is equal to 130% of the total vertical element area*.
* ‘element area’ is represented by dotted lines.
Minimum size
To ensure readability there is a limit on how much the logo image can be reduced.
Shown are the smallest permissible reproduction sizes for the horizontal and vertical options:
If the logo appears on a background colour and the grey value of this background colour is less than 60%, the positive black and white version should be used:
When the grey value of the background colour is more than 60% the negative black and white version should be used, leaving the clear area intact:
The same guidelines apply for the placement of logos on images as they do for solid colours. If the value of the background colour is less than 60% grey, the positive black and white version should be used. When the value of the background colour is more than 60% grey the negative black and white version should be used.
Do not place the logo in a white box on anything other than a white background (use the negative black and white logo).
