Parking and transport
Ample public car parking is available under the Owen G Glenn Building on Grafton Road. You can also reach us by public transport and there are parking facilities for motorbikes and bicycles nearby.
Pay and display street parking is available on Princes Street as follows:
- Monday to Saturday 8am–6pm, $4 per hour (max 90 mins)
- Monday to Saturday after 6pm, Sundays and public holidays, free
The nearest public car park is under the Owen G Glenn Building at 16 Grafton Rd (approximately 5 minutes walk away).
The car park is open as follows:
- Monday to Saturday 7am-11.30pm (you can still exit the car park after this time)
- Sunday 12pm-5pm
- Closed public holidays
The car park rates are as follows:
- Monday to Friday 7am-5pm, $4 per hour
- Weekdays after 5pm, and weekends, $5 per day
Parking charges can be paid by credit card or cash only (no debit cards or eft-pos).
The car park is managed by CS Traffic Management Ltd.

The Link Bus runs approximately every ten minutes, to and from the University via various city locations including the Britomart Transport Centre, Parnell, Newmarket and Queen St. A bright green bus, Link can be flagged at any bus stop along the route. It stops directly across the road from the Maidment Theatre on Alfred Street. |

The City Circuit is a free bus which connects Britomart Transport Centre to Queen St and the University. It also stops across the road from the Maidment Theatre on Alfred Street. A bright red bus, the City Circuit runs every 10 minutes between 8am and 6pm, seven days a week. |

There is designated motorcycle parking on Symonds Street just before the Alfred Street corner.
The closest bicycle rack is on the far left of the red tiled area as you approach the Maidment Theatre entrance. There is also a covered bicycle rack across the road and adjacent to the General Library building. Please ensure you bike is locked.
