Parking and transport
Ample public car parking is available under the Owen G Glenn Building on Grafton Road. You can also reach us by public transport and there are parking facilities for motorbikes and bicycles nearby.
The nearest public car park is located under the Owen G Glenn Building at 16 Grafton Rd (approximately 5 minutes walk away). Lifts operate from the parking floors and exit in the Owen G Glenn building foyer. There is an after hours release button for exiting but not for entering the foyer from outside.
The car park hours and rates are as follows:
- Monday to Friday 7am-4.59pm, $5 per hour
- Monday to Friday 5pm-11.30pm*, $6 flat rate
- Saturday 7.30am-11.30pm*, $6 flat rate
- Sunday 12pm-5pm*, $6 flat rate
- Closed public holidays
Please note: times and rates are subject to change without notice.
*To exit the Owen G Glenn building after hours follow these instructions:
- Enter the building from the vehicle entrance, using your parking ticket to open the pedestrian door.
- Use the inside pay station to pay for your ticket and validate it for exit.
- Ticket is then used to raise the barrier arm (you must drive directly to the exit grille for it to rise).
Parking charges can be paid by Visa, Mastercard or cash only (no debit cards or eft-pos).

Pay and display street parking is available on Princes Street as follows:

Alfred Street is a one-way, restricted access road. It is not open to through traffic except buses and approved service vehicles. If you need better access to the Maidment Theatre or require mobility parking please see our Maidment Theatre or Musgrove Studio accessibility information.

The Link Bus runs approximately every ten minutes, to and from the University via various city locations including the Britomart Transport Centre, Parnell, Newmarket and Queen St. A bright green bus, Link can be flagged at any bus stop along the route. It stops directly across the road from the Maidment Theatre on Alfred Street. |

The City Circuit is a free bus which connects Britomart Transport Centre to Queen St and the University. It also stops across the road from the Maidment Theatre on Alfred Street. A bright red bus, the City Circuit runs every 10 minutes between 8am and 6pm, seven days a week. |

There is designated motorcycle parking on Symonds Street just before the Alfred Street corner.
The closest bicycle rack is on the far left of the red tiled area as you approach the Maidment Theatre entrance. There is also a covered bicycle rack across the road and adjacent to the General Library building. Please ensure you bike is locked.
