Mike Daisey is an American writer and performer who compiles autobiography, gonzo journalism and unscripted performance to tell stories that expose the flaws and contradictions of contemporary society. In THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY OF STEVE JOBS, Daisey turns his signature wit to the world’s most mysterious technology icon and former CEO of Apple, illuminating how his obsessions shape our lives. Linked with stories of travels to China to investigate the factories where millions toil to make iPhones and iPods, Daisey’s journey shines a light on our love affair with our digital gadgets and the human cost of creating them.

Some of the stories told in the monologue have been exposed as invented or half-truths, causing international media frenzy. Daisey has never professed to be a journalist, just a guy with a story to tell – but he has been elusive about what was and wasn’t his personal experience. Regardless of whether it’s fact or fiction, the monologue tells an important and exciting story – the theatrical equivalent of a must-see Film Festival doco.
